CJ Sinha undergoes medical tests

first_imgSurendra Kumar SinhaChief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, whose one-month leave on health grounds sparked speculations, underwent medical tests on Sunday at ICDDR,B in the capital’s Mohakhali.  A source confirmed Prothom Alo that Surendra Kumar Sinha went to the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh around 8:00am and had several medical tests at the Diagnostic Unit of the ICDDR,B.A Supreme Court source said the chief justice with his wife obtained Australian visas for three years and may soon travel to Australia where Sinha’s eldest daughter Suchana Sinha lives.On 2 October, the chief justice went on one-month leave on health grounds.The chief justice was vehemently criticised by ministers and ruling party leaders for his observations made in the verdict that had annulled the 16th amendment to the constitution.Sinha assumed office on 17 January, 2015 as the country’s 21st chief justice.
