PEOPLE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE FIANNA FAIL WANT ME BACK IN POLITICS – COUGHLAN

first_imgFORMER Donegal TD and ex-Tanaiste Mary Coughlan has said she may now return to politics – but would let Fianna Fail decide if she should.“I’d have a lot of people who would like to see me back. The party would like to see me back but moreso outside the party, people in my area would like to see me back,” she told Sean O’Rourke on RTE Radio One today.“I still enjoy politics. I’m still involved in politics… Fianna Fail has to regroup in order to get back to what was more like our heyday. I’m not sure [if I’ll run again]. It’s not for me at the end of the day. I’m a big believer in what the party decides,” she said. Ms Coughlan said the loss of her husband David to cancer in September 2012 had been tough for her.“That was very tough. He was very much part of my life. He was the backbone to my career. He passed away and he was just 49 and that was when my life changed. I thought my life changed when I lost the seat, but that was when it really changed,” she said. She also said Fianna Fail had “no choice” but to guarantee the banks during the economic crisis.   PEOPLE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE FIANNA FAIL WANT ME BACK IN POLITICS – COUGHLAN was last modified: July 23rd, 2014 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:donegalmary coughlanRTE Radion 1Sean O’RourkeTanaisteTDlast_img
