first_imgSwilly Rovers 2 – Drumkeen Utd 1Victory for the Ramelton men in a pulsating encounter at Swilly Park.On 4 mins Ryan Shields released Calvin Mooney whose lobbed effort was just over the bar. 2 mins later Swilly were ahead when Gareth Colhoun’s through ball found Darren Mc Geever who crossed for Calvin Mooney to produce a clinical finish from 6 yards.On 36 mins Swilly should have have further ahead when Mc Geever & Mooney combined again as Mc Cauley produced a brilliant save to deny Mooney, & Micheal McHugh’s goalbound effort hit the crossbar and bounced to safety leaving it 1-0 to Swilly at the break.Drumkeen who were always dangerous on the break were level when Philip White released Ronan Coyle, & the former Finn Harps man finished well from 8 yards.Swilly were back in front after 61 mins when Laurence Tolands powerfully delivered corner was headed home in some style by the inrushing Dylan Hegarty. Richie Moore of Drumkeen & Calvin Mooney of Swilly both had good chances in the final 10 mins but both efforts were narrowly wide.
