Mourinho is a FANTASTIC manager who will adapt to Man U – Ancelotti EXCLUSIVE

first_imgCarlo Ancelotti says Jose Mourinho will adapt to the culture of Manchester United and prove a big success at Old Trafford. The Portuguese boss is expected to be named head coach at Old Trafford in the coming days, following the sacking of FA Cup winning boss Louis van Gaal – although complications concerning his image rights are currently holding up the completion of the deal.Although Mourinho is a proven winner with an elite managerial record across the last decade, concerns have been raised from fans and former players, including Eric Cantona, over whether Mourinho’s style of football is in keeping with United’s traditions. The 53-year-old is well regarded as being nothing more than a defensive coach, who has turned big teams into sides who have no desire to play attacking football, but Ancelotti believes this is a bad description of a manager who adapts to the team he is currently in charge of.Speaking as a guest on Hawksbee and Jacobs, the incoming Bayern Munich boss said: “I think he is a good fit [for United]. Mourinho is a fantastic manager. He has won everything everywhere.“Mourinho takes care of the characteristics of the player and puts on the pitch a system where the players are comfortable.“In Inter, for example, he issued a defensive style because they had a really strong defence. But at Real Madrid they played fantastic attacking football. His team before I was there scored more than 100 goals in one season.“This wedding will be really good for Manchester United and also for Mourinho because Manchester United is a top club.”CARLO ANCELOTTI: Quiet Leadership (Portfolio Penguin) is out now.last_img
