Father, son remanded on $2.2M narco-trafficking charge

first_imgA North Ruimveldt, Georgetown father and his son, who are accused of trafficking more than $2 million worth of cannabis were on Thursday remanded to prison.The duo appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.Orwin Battlefield, 53, and his 28-year-old son, Quincy Charles, are accused of trafficking four kilograms of cannabis on November 19, 2018 at North Ruimveldt, Georgetown.According to Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield, the men’s home was searched by Police and the drugs were discovered hidden in a plastic bucket.The prosecution is contending that at the time of discovery Charles reportedly admitted to ownership of the drug.The men, who were both represented by Attorney-at-Law Mark Waldron, were remanded to prison. The case will continue on December 10, 2018.last_img
